Winter hiking!

Well it finally decided to snow! So I bundled up dusted off the hiking boots and went trekking :). At 20°F I was happy to have lots of layers on.

I went to Sugarcreek Metro park and hiked about 3.25 miles I was happy I had a trekking pole as some spots were a bit slippery and at one point there was this really steep walkway...

Bonnie Squirrel tagged along so I wouldn't get too bored

The river was still flowing though parts of it were starting to ice

Did I mention a steep walkway? this was taken at eye level I had already climbed 3/4 up and was happy to finally see the top. Beautiful but a total killer to a novice hiker in the snow.

the First Snow of the New Year!

It has been awhile since I've made a post. Hopefully I can get back into the groove of actually posting the photos I take.

Today I hiked in the snow. It was fabulous and very cold (20 °F) but worth it for some beautiful first snow of 2012 shots.

Someone wrote in the snow.

The ducks are still out?

yup that is silly me :)

I think these are Squirrel tracks. They extend from my back door to a nearby tree.

Snowy field with birds

I swear I had no idea these birds were flying across when I took the picture. I thought it was dirt on the lens then I looked closer. Taken on 1/11/11 Which was a fun date to say all say!

Creation...

Today's feature photo - Frosty!

Here is the story of Frosty:
Today it snowed.
It was the perfect Snow.
Frosty was just waiting to be rolled up

His arms were just barely recognizable under all the snow.

There he stood in all his glory but something was missing.

No this doesn't seem right...

Ya there we go!

Frosty will you shovel my walk?

Snowy day with pictures

Here is the picture I choose to feature today -

However I had such a great day I'd like to take you show you through photos and blog.

Due to my procrastination this comfy chair remains on my deck instead of my basement. I think it looks quite comfy right?

I was informed that no one could make it into work so I got up and drove my all wheel drive out over the snow to save the day. I really enjoyed seeing all the trees weighed down by snow. This is over by work.

On my way home the sun was setting so I decided to take a little detour through Cox Arboretum. Everything was so white.

Even the squirrels were having a good time.

To end the day I flipped open my hot tub and warmed up! Here are the icicles hanging up from the top. I really like how the tab is embedded in the ice.

Cold and Tired

Today is the wintry mix leading to snow day. Here is my tire and hubcap before leaving work. I like how it looks like a starfish.

In other news on my ride home I passed by Joe. Hi Joe!

Snowy night

I'm going to predict right now that the next few days of pictures will be cold or other wise snow themed. What can I say it is all around me! Despite working, going to the gym, and the COLD snowy weather I still accomplished my daily photography!

I'm very impressed (and happy) with the quality of photos my camera is taking. My old camera could never take a nonblurry night picture without the flash.

Same picture taken with Flash
