Day 2 Springfield, IL to Cuba, MO

Day 2 so much to see and so much we decided to not visit. St. Louis we drove through but didn't stop, we both have been there and the arch before and I really didn't want to deal with the crowds.

After our amazing Charlie Parkers breakfast and a visit with a pink elephant with a cosmo (see last post for photos). We went to visit the very ornate Capitol building.

We finished off our Springfield, IL adventure with corn dogs from the first corn dog establishment the Cozy Dog Inn! I brought along a couple of cozy dogs that I got there back in 2012!

Then to Girard for Doc's just off 66 they sell old school fountain drinks and other stuff. I opted for a lemon sundae made my taste buds so very happy! Wynter got something with carmel and coffee ice cream.. she debated sharing but in the end we both shared and they both were great!

We found an old jail to visit. Wynter chose my sign, but it is also jinda true, my singing is atrocious!

We revisited Henry's Rabbit Ranch. Sadly the owner passed away last year and his family just can'y upkeep it. At this time the grounds are still open to peruse but the shop is closed. I left a little momento with my own little goodby - a matchbook I got there back in 2012.

We had to stop for the house that had a 'Goat' garden 'Goat your kicks on route 66' They had freebie stickers and a guestbook to sign.

We stopped for the night in Cuba, MO known for their murals. We stayed at the Wagon Wheel Inn where we stayed in 2014. They have changed hands and renovated but still have their neon sign.

And some other random things we passed:
