We took a nice walk across this bridge it spans the Mississippi river between Illinois and Missouri. It once was used by automobiles now foot traffic only

Did you go through East St. Louis and if so is it as scary as some of the Route 66 guides say? I have seen ones that recommend not following it through East St. Louis, but then I often find that people are much more alarmist about things like that than I am.
