Cruising Alaska
For the past 7 days or so I've been without net access but not without my camera. Instead of splitting them up amongst a bunch of blogs I decided to just combine them here. So here you have it -
The Gas powered clock in Vancouver, BC Canada
Sushi display on the ship. It was quite good :)
Dog sledding over the dirt. here was my team of 16 dogs
And some puppies I got to play with afterward.
Toilet with a view in Skagway, AK
An old wash basin set up in one of the houses in Ketchikan, AK
After Zip Lining through the Tongass Rainforest I had to pull off my high heels and cross this suspension bridge. You should check out the video I posted on my you tube
The train trip through White Mountain Pass was gorgeous despite the overcast weather.
Another white mountain Pass photo. An ominous photo of an old bridge spanning the gulch. the story i heard was miners use to bring horses weighted with their equipment across this bridge, many a horse would fall off and find it's doom in the gulch far below.
A glacier. There were lots of glaciers and no picture really did them justice. This is one of the college point glaciers you can see how it is fed by two other glaciers
A closeup view of the portage glacier. This is the closest i got to a glacier (about 300 yards) one could almost hear it moving. I love the blue coloring.
A waterfall near the portage glacier. There are a lot of waterfalls around most being runoff from the snow atop the mountains.
And lastly a nice Alaskan beer to end your day. Sadly this is the final picture of gray squirrel as shortly after his drink he got lost in Skagway missing the boat home.

Grouse Mountain
View of Vancouver, BC from Grouse Mountain about 3000 feet elevation
Para glider just taking off from the top of the mountain. He flew for quite a distance.
Pannekoeken a dutch cross between pancake and crepe. It was quite the tasty breakfast
Lastly, poutine a Canadian favorite? Basically take french fries add turkey gravy and cheese curds = yumyum!
Capilano Suspension Bridge, Vancouver, BC
The bridge it's a long way across and an even longer way down!
I'm not sure what they were working on but it had something to do with the support cables.
Sluggy
Thunderbird
Today's picture comes from the Vancouver, BC Canada Airport. A Thunderbird greets us international travelers. Actually I was rather impressed by the art and sculptures throughout this airport.

Strawberries
I think the faire is coming to town :) Passed this on the highway today.
I also passed by Touchdown Jesus. Poor guy was struck by lightening earlier this week and burned down. you may remember him from this post.
Well now he looks like:

The Menus
Tonight I went to the Fraze and saw a Cincinnati local band called The Menus. They were great. They performed some of their own work but for the most part it was cover songs, however the energy was still awe inspiring. Really one can't beat $5 Friday concerts.
Lastly, a sculpture of an old man and his dog. I just love the facial expression

Riverscape
Wandering around downtown with some friends. We stopped to watch some kids play in the fountain. This was my first attempt at photographing movement.
And a bonus picture for yesterday :)
Roxy on her throne!
